When decorating a small space, it’s not convenient to aim for perfect alignment of every element in a room.

There are many ways to paint strategically: we can choose an accent color for a single wall and structure the room’s color scheme around variations of it; create a “false headboard” in a bedroom or extend the accent color to the ceiling to add depth to the room.
We should also consider the different paint finishes: glossy finishes reflect a lot of light and draw the eye’s attention, while matte finishes absorb light, making them ideal for spaces we don’t want to emphasize.
